Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between gel paint and coloured gel?
Coloured gels typically have much less pigment (colour) in the gel mixture. This means that the nail technician needs to apply a thicker coat of gel colour to achieve a nice uniform colour.
What is the curing time for gel paints?
Because gel paints are used very thin, they only require ONE minute curing time in a standard 36W UV lamp.
What are the different ways gel paints is used?
Apply as a full colour on sculpted gel nails. Often one coat is enough coverage (the lighter colours sometimes require a thin second coat).
Sculpt the nails with clear or pink gel, shape and buff the nails...apply the gel paint just on the tips. The gel paint is so thin that when you cover it with your top gel, there is no “bump” where the gel ends.
Use gel pant like acrylic or watercolour paint to create everything from simple lines and swirls to multi-dimensional flowers! The possibilities are endless!
